Common things - Nurturing Thursday

One of the things I miss most since my stroke 9 years ago is doing the laundry... I miss the deep satisfaction of seeing a line of clean clothes blowing on the line; I miss working with the elements to care for my family...

  1. Those simple pleasures of life... if only we would have appropriated them more

  3. There are so many little things that seem like boring chores at the time, but we miss them when they're gone... kids are noisy and make messes, but then they're grown up and moving away. We can't be reminded too often to appreciate the moment.

    1. Exactly, Meg! We'll become empty-nesters in September (just me and hubby for the first time in 22 years), and I'm not looking forward to it :/

    2. When my kids went away to school, the house was very quiet. But they both came back for a while after graduating, and my daughter got a puppy, so it definitely wasn't quiet then! There's just no telling what life holds.

    3. There certainly isn't! Our son graduates from uni next year, and given the economy, it's likely he'll be coming back home for a while until he finds work... It's tough for the younger generation :/
