I must be mad...

... but I've bitten the bullet, and signed up for my first ever NaNoWriMo **GULP**

Over the years, I've seen several online friends participate, and thought, 'What a fab idea!', but I've never really had a burning desire to write a novel...

But a wee idea has been simmering for the last few weeks, and I realized I should just give it go... Whether or not I have the physical stamina to write 50.000 in 30 days is my main concern, but I'll never know till I try!

So if I go missing from the blog, you'll know where I am - hunkered over my laptop trying to write...

And if any of you can cheer me on from the sidelines, ANY encouragement will be gratefully received - either here or on Facebook.

It all kicks off on Sunday, 1st November. Wish me luck!!

  2. Hi Claire, I'm not sure if I should do it, since 2013 I say, next year, I've let go away for 2 years, now it can be third. Like you said, if we don't try we don't know. Still few days to decide. But I'm sure you can do it, remember your art page everyday few months ago, for sure I will cheer for you, but don't disappear from the blog.

    1. I've done just the same, Elizabeth, cheering friends on and saying, 'I can't possibly do it...' I seriously doubt I can maintain over 1500 words a day (writing/typing is much harder for me than making collages!), but I'm gonna have a go! I figure, even if I don't hit 50,000 words, I'll have the beginnings of a book - something I don't have right now!

  4. I am so happy to be able now to comment on your posts. My eyes simply could not discern the little boxes with pics in them. I congratulate you for taking a leap of faith and entering. It is difficult for me as well to decide on doing some of these things. I have done some things on some sites but normally don't for long. I am busy once again researching for a book I am writing. I wish you well. :)

    1. Bless you, Renee, for persevering... It's so lovely to read your comments :) I know Blogger has some serious glitches - esp. re. leaving comments - but it's the only platform I can make sense of...
Sending you warm wishes and good luck with your research x
